Deptford Library Cinema Club - Discussion Group

The focus for this month’s films is Health and Wellbeing, in line with Lewisham Library's Health and Wellbeing day on Saturday 11th January. Come and discuss the movies in a relaxed and informal setting, with biscuits and fellow film fans! This month, we will be discussing January’s films through the lens of Susan Sontag’s ‘Illness as Metaphor’. For a link to the text please sign up to the newsletter below. If you don’t get a chance to read any of it beforehand though please don’t worry, I will bring some print outs of the most relevant parts of the text for us to look at on the day. --- Watch a selection of films every Thursday 6:00 - 8:00pm, programmed to a new theme every month, voted for by newsletter subscribers. The discussion group takes place every last Thursday of the month 6:00-7:00pm. The screenings and discussion group are free to attend and open to all – no need to book, and please do bring along a friend if you’d like.
