Event DetailsWe are marking 2 years of supporting local entrepreneurs, start-ups and established businesses through our forums, training, one-to-ones and business resources. You will have a chance to connect with local organisations which offer business support, our BIPC Lewisham ambassadors, business officers from Lewisham Council, and many more.
The event will run from 12-6.45pm at Catford Mews, the friendly events space a few doors down from Catford Library, with a programme of speakers, panels, one-to-one support, networking, training and information. This will be a celebration of what has been achieved over the past 2 years and a taster of what BIPC Lewisham can offer in the future to help you and your business succeed.
Schedule
12:00 Networking and welcome from the BIPC Lewisham team, followed by the premiere screenings of BIPC Lewisham Ambassadors’ short profile films.
12:30 Crafting Your Competitive Edge: a marketing seminar, led by Rebecca Thomson of Local Marketing Made Easy
14:00 2 Years of BIPC Lewisham: a look at the progress and successes of the programme, presented by members of the British Library’s BIPC team
14:30 Focus on Disabled Entrepreneurs: talks, profiles and interviews with disabled business owners Carole Pyke of Words That Deliver and Nick O’Shea, founder of Ignition Brewery, and more! This section of the day is curated by BIPC Lewisham Ambassador David Bourroughs of Buddies For All.
16:30 Focus on the BIPC Lewisham Ambassadors: our amazing business ambassadors offering insights into their own entrepreneurial journeys, what they’ve accomplished through their collaborations with BIPC Lewisham and the advice they’d give to anyone starting out, including the role that social media can play in growing your business:
* Film and live Q&A from David Bourroughs from Buddies For All.
* Hustle + Heels live in conversation with interior designer Hannah Drakeford, on how Hannah has harnessed the power of social media to grow her business. Audience participation required!
* An extended cut of Mel Nichols’ of Chayses Boys Book Club profile video.
* A look inside the journey of publisher Esther Solomon-Turay of Authentic Worth in a pre-recorded interview with Lewisham Librarian Jasmine Kershaw.
* Live discussion forum led by Amaze Associates’ Jennifer McLean and Fiona Wedderburn-Graham. These business coaches will be on hand to help you with your most burning professional questions!
17:45-18:45 Networking with light snacks and refreshments, supplied by Catford favourite Vegan Flavours and Catford Mews' newest residents Tanio Pizza.
There will also be information stands from Adult Learning Lewisham, Grow London Local and Lewisham Local. If you want to learn a new skill, get specialised help in growing your business or tap into the borough's community of entrepreneurs, you'll have the chance to chat with representatives from these great organisations.
