Lauren Elkin will read from and discuss her novel Scaffolding. Lauren Elkin is a French and American writer and translator. She is the author of several books, including Scaffolding, Art Monsters, and Flâneuse, which was a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week, a New York Times Notable Book of 2017, and a finalist for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. She is also the translator of Simone de Beauvoir's previously unpublished novel The Inseparables, as well as of work by Constance Debré and Colombe Schneck. Her essays have appeared in Granta, the London Review of Books, Harper’s, The New York Times, Le Monde, and Frieze, among others. She lives in London.
