Description:
Join sewing social enterprise Make Mee Studio and learn to extend the life of your clothes and homewares. Whether it’s darning a sock or patching a cushion, they’ll help you mend and repair with confidence. Sessions are free, open to all abilities, and held twice a month across Lewisham. Each person may be limited to 1.5 hours if it’s busy—please be considerate of others. Bring one or more items to fix, though you may not complete them all in one go. These are mending and upcycling sessions only—we don’t teach sewing from scratch. We have lots of haberdashery, but if your item needs a specific part, please bring it. Children under 6 can’t take part (babies in carriers are allowed). Kids aged 6–14 must be with an adult at all times. Workshops are drop-in and first come, first served. Organised by Lewisham Council Housing, Strategic Waste Team, and Libraries. Funded in part by Ideal Heating. Facilitated by Make Mee Studio CIC, a local social enterprise running sewing events in Lewisham for over 7 years.
